Our Lawyers

Our team offers not only a remarkable breadth and depth of trial experience, but experience in arbitration and appellate matters as well. In addition, many of our partners are board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in one or more areas of litigation:

  • Don Jackson – Civil Trial, Personal Injury Trial
  • Eileen O’Neill – Civil Appellate, Civil Trial
  • Paul Smith – Personal Injury Trial
  • Tim Lee – Civil Appellate

Board certification requires that an attorney practice in their area of specialization for at least three years, as well as take part in rigorous continuing education courses. It’s an achievement that few attorneys reach.

There’s something else that’s distinct about us and our attorneys: we listen. Clients appreciate that our attorneys take the time to understand their priorities and then develop a plan and strategy reflecting their input.

Avery Sheppard

Avery Sheppard joined Ware Jackson in 2013 after graduating from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, he was a member of Business and Tax Law Journal and the Mock Trial Team. Upon graduation, Avery was awarded the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award and inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honor society whose purpose is the encouragement of oral advocacy and brief writing skills.

Since joining the firm, Avery has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide array of areas, including products liability, personal injury, construction, and oil and gas. Avery has participated in most of these matters from the initial dispute until resolution, requiring his intimate involvement at every stage of litigation, including taking depositions, arguing hearings, and participating in trials.

When he’s not at work Avery enjoys travelling with his wife Sarah, fly fishing, and hunting on his family ranch in Cuero, Texas.
