This was a recovery of nearly 50 cents on the dollar average among class members, which far exceeds the reported average of 7 cents on the dollar for securities fraud class action settlements.

Representing plaintiffs and defendants gives the firm the skill and flexibility to go on the offensive even when its clients are sued. In one recent case, three Ware, Jackson partners tried the longest civil case in Harris County history. The trial, which was dragged out for almost six months by plaintiffs suing for over $1.6 billion, ended in complete victory for our defendant clients. The jury gave nothing to the plaintiffs on their $1.6 billion in claims. Instead, the jury awarded our clients more than $34 million on counterclaims for fraud, tortuous interference, and attorneys' fees. When a college sued some of these same clients again in Texas seeking over $6 million, our attorneys convinced a Harris County jury to send the plaintiff back to Pennsylvania with nothing.
