Wesley A. Jackson
Wes has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a multitude of different civil case areas, involving oil and gas, energy, breach of contract, fraud, construction, personal injury, insurance, real property and other areas of the law. He has successfully defended many large corporations against personal injury and wrongful death claims, as well as other claims based in tort and in contract. He has provided insurance coverage opinions to some of the world’s largest insurance companies and has counseled many other businesses and individuals who have become embroiled in large- and small-scale litigation matters.
On the plaintiff’s side, Wes has represented many individuals and businesses in a myriad of different suits. Notably, he has represented a large chemical producer/distributor in a number of matters, as well as an independent oil and gas company in several real property-related suits regarding interests in the Eagle-Ford Shale. In the past several years, Wes has represented an increasing number of families and property owners with significant mineral holdings. He has also aided many individuals and businesses in resolving matters prior to the institution of formal litigation.
Wes prides himself on his ability to effectively communicate very complicated legal issues to both judges and juries by focusing on the “big picture.” He has first-chaired many jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and appeals, and has assisted with many others, has taken hundreds of depositions and has argued at countless hearings. It is through this personal interaction with judges, juries and witnesses that he finds the most enjoyment in his practice.
His clients find that he is accessible and attentive to their questions and concerns. Many clients do not deal with litigation on a regular basis, and when they become involved in a suit it is this accessibility and attentiveness that helps put them at ease, even in the most stressful of situations.
Wes and his wife Suzanne have three kids, Jake, Luke and Livi, who keep them on their toes at all times. When not working, he enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his family and friends, especially on any body of water.
